Council of Michigan Foundations is working on a pilot project to demonstrate the collective impact of Michigan foundations on the state’s economic development.
Communications Network and PAI are working with Williams Group on a study of the use and value of foundation annual reports.
PAI will convene learning groups in 2008 on policymaker outreach, sharing stories of impact, and identifying practices that effectively engage influential Americans.

A Call for Your Ideas and Examples
In 2008, PAI participants will search for solutions. We're looking for foundations and other philanthropy organizations that have successfully carried out the following practices:
- Sharing stories of impact
- Conducting outreach to policymakers and other decision makers
- Communicating the full range of roles played by foundations
- Talking about failure
- Integrating evaluation and communications
